Second Place...

...but not for lack of effort.

Top Batting Averages
Hoder .731
Scarlato .727
Albert .692
* Brad really surged toward the end of the year...if he had made only 1 more game, he would have won it all. Same with Scar, he jumped up from .692 last week.

Top RBI Leaders
Hoder 41
Scarlato 34
Booth 29
* Honorable mention to Mason who lead off most of the time and still had 25. Again, if Scar had two more games, he would have easily won the RBI title...good thing I came to every game.

Top On base Percentage
Wood .792
Albert .778
Booth .734
* Schank had .750, but only came to two games...doesn't quite measure up with the rest of the guys.

Top HR Hitters
Fleishman 2
Booth 2
Scarlato 2
* Imagine if Ian had showed up for more than 2 games...

Top Scoring
Booth 35
Herndon 31
Hoder 29

The rest, you can check for yourself below. See you next season.

Fall '08 FINAL STATS

NOT CHAMPS

Team ME finished 16-1-1 and we finished in second place at 16-2. Even though this is a complete bummer, we did have one hell of a season.

I will update the final stats sometime this week.

Dress for Success

Temperatures at game time tonight will be 44 degrees, so dress in layers. Game 2, it's gonna drop to 40 degrees.

Also, if you haven't yet replied, please do so. It would be great to win these last two games and have a shot at being Fall Champs.

PRE-GAME Drinks at Champps

Before the game on 10/30/08, some of us, so far Feder and Hoder will be at Champps (1201 S. Joyce. St 22202) for a pre-game drinking contest.

You want to come?

One More Thing...

...the league site has not yet been updated, but we are 14-2. As soon as I have the standings, I'll post them here.

A few thoughts going into the bye week.

* Hoder leads with 34 RBI...but I have 4 more games than Scarlato who has 30. Are 2 games enough for Scar to overtake the RBI lead?
* Hoder has the highest BA at .711, but Scar is a close second...but Flieshman is one to watch. With only 6 games under his belt, he could overtake both guys with 2 big games...it's easier too boost that average with fewer at bats...but it's also easier to falter.
* Vagnetti has been walked 6 times this year.
* Scarlato is the HR King so far with 2. But Ryan Foley has the only Grand Slam, right? Plus if Ian shows up, he has the ability to have 2 a game.
* We have one female on our team...but Heather's batting average is better than Lazarus'. Maybe Mike should think about coming out to boost his stats since he's losing to a girl (ha ha).
* In recent weeks, Coach Brad Albert has come on strong. A slow start had him riding the lower end of the batting averages...now he's on a roll, batting .636
* Has anybody figured out Wood's strategy? He's batting .684 and could be the batting champ with another stellar showing. All but one of his hits have been singles. Somebody need HGH?

* As a team we have scored 224 runs so far this year. Not counting the 2 forfeits, that's an average of 16 runs a game...now that will win you some softball.
